Take Action: Equitable Food Event

Date:
July 11, 2018 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Join the UC Merced branch of the Blum Center for a special Take Action event with members of the Equitable Food Initiative.

Professor Mario Sifuentez will moderate a panel including Ramon Ramirez, the president and co-founder of Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN), and Margaret Reeves, a senior scientist at the Pesticide Action Network and member of the EFI on-farm leadership teams.

The Equitable Food Initiative published its first standard and trained its first on-farm team of worker leaders in 2013. We now have more than 20,000 workers on 27 EFI-certified farms from British Colombia to Mexico, and the support of two major retailers (Costco and Whole Foods), with more in the pipeline.

Free parking is available in Bellevue lot after 6 p.m.
