HSRI Graduate Student Membership Application

The goal of the HSRI Graduate Student Member Program is to foster interest, training and success in health sciences research. In order to be eligible to apply for HSRI Student Membership, you must be a current UC Merced graduate student in good standing engaged in human health-related reseach, and your advisor must be a member of HSRI.

HSRI Student Membership benefits include: 

  • Fellowship proposal services and post-award support
  • Professional skills workshops
  • Eligibility for HSRI travel and small research grants
  • Event and funding announcements 
  • Newsletter
  • HSRI website profile
  • Leadership opportunities (e.g. HSRI Student Membership Advisory Board)

To apply, complete the webform below. Please note that the information you provide will be used as your HSRI profile and in the Graduate Student Members directory on our website: do not provide any information that you would not want published online (including your phone number, biographical information and research interests). If you would like to include a photograph for the web site, please ensure that it is suitable for use on a professional website. 

Applications are reviewed following deadlines of April 30 and October 31 each year.

How do your current and future research plans relate to the health sciences? Please note that this section will be reviewed by the membership committee. It will not be published on the HSRI website.
Please tell us a little about yourself and about your current research project(s). Keep in mind that this section will be used in your profile page on the HSRI website, so be sure not to divulge anything (personal or otherwise) that you would not want to be published online. You may wish to clear your research summary with your advisor.
