The HSRI Community Research Center provides researchers with off-campus, community facing options for in-person activities. CRC space design ensures privacy and confidentiality for research participants, with obscured windows and acoustic panels.
The CRC's UC Merced Main Street location (room 112 at 1635 M Street) is a flexible research space with tables, chairs, video screen, and portable whiteboards that double as dividers/screens. The space can be reserved by Full HSRI members for research studies, small focus groups and meetings upon filing their Community Research Center agreement via email to thirst@ucmerced.edu.
Reserve the CRC Research Space
The CRC research space can be reserved by approved HSRI members through the campus EMS room booking system. See our helpful guide for step-by-step room booking instructions.
CAT Card Access
Approved, full HSRI members may request after-hours CAT Card access for themselves or for their graduate students, by emailing thirst@ucmerced.edu. The building is open to the public Monday – Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm, so research teams will need CAT Card access to meet participants outside these times.
Hard Key Access
The CRC space (room 112) has a combination lock box and hard key. It is imperative that this key is kept safe, and that the key box combination is only shared with trusted individuals. Please be sure to return the key to the lock box and ensure that it is locked!
General Information
Acoustic panels are installed on all windows to help provide privacy and confidentiality of human subjects. Please note, however, that the building is shared with UC Merced Extension, so please keep this in mind when planning your studies so that there is minimal disruption or inconvenience (in both directions: we want to be good neighbors!)
Please be sure to leave the shared space clean and clear for the next user (e.g. please clean whiteboards, remove any papers, etc.) This is not only a courtesy, but ensures that no participant personal identifiable information is inadvertently disclosed.
