Raissa Nogueira de Brito, Ph.D., is the Chief Biostatistician of the Biostatistics and Data Support Center at UC Merced. She is a Data and Health Scientist with more than 10 years of statistical experience, including survey design, statistical modeling, GIS, and survival analysis. Her scholarly contributions bridge anthropology, ecology, and public health to investigate the biological and social drivers of disease emergence and transmission. Dr. Brito grew up in Brazil and earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Health Sciences (Infectious and Parasitic Diseases) from Fiocruz, Brazil, and completed her postdoctoral training in Anthropology at the University of Georgia. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
