Prof. Ryan Baxter
Associate Professor, Chemistry & Biochemistry

Work in my lab sits at the interface of synthetic chemistry, photophysics, and human health, with a consistent focus on how reactive molecules behave in complicated systems. Across several different projects, my research lab works to develop new ways to create and control “excited” molecules—species that absorb light or exchange electrons—and then understand their behavior to better solve problems that matter for people, from developing safer drugs to promoting cleaner technologies for food production.
