Francisco Gorrostieta Campos holds a B.S. in Biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a B.S in Biotechnology Engineering from the Universidad Abierta y a Distancia de México (UNADM). Using an interdisciplinary approach bridging evolutionary biology, genomics, and computational modeling he seeks to make contributions to the understanding of the noncoding genome and its implications in disease, development, and genome stability. His current research explores the organization, function, and evolutionary dynamics of ncRNA genes using high-quality long-read genome assemblies.
