While I did some traditional clinical research and impacts of longitudinal curriculums early in my career most of my current work goes towards my Mobile Health and Learning (Mobile HeaL) program. Mobile Heal is UCSF Fresno’s mobile medical clinic designed to bring health care services to local communities where it is needed most while providing learning opportunities for future health care providers. We work closely with public health and other agencies on addressing specific health disparities. The majority of our work involves agricultural workers, rural communities and the homeless population.
While providing basic medical screening and care to these populations I have recently created a research program to report health access and public health markers. This includes prevalence of diabetes, hypertension, drug dependency related health issues, vaccination rates and sexually transmitted infections
