Yeng obtained a Master of Arts in Psychology, where she examined the relationship between ostracism and aggression, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminology, focusing on the social perspectives of mental health treatment programs for incarcerated individuals. Building on these experiences, her research interests broadly seek to improve substance use and mental health treatment access among justice-involved populations, with the goal of reducing recidivism and improving behavioral health outcomes. Currently, she is exploring the experiences of health and re-entry of formerly incarcerated individuals and community organization staff who work with them within the Central Valley. This research will build on previous knowledge to inform strategies to better support this population group in this region.
