Cecilia Ramos

Cecilia Ramos is a dedicated public health professional with a strong focus on health equity, environmental health, and mental and behavioral health. She leverages data to drive change in these areas, supported by several years of epidemiology experience at both macro and micro levels.

Currently serving as a Supervising Epidemiologist at the Merced County Department of Public Health, Cecilia leads outbreak investigations, develops public health policies, and oversees the epidemiology unit. Her role involves utilizing advanced data analysis tools to ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting. This work is essential in facilitating evidence-based decision-making and improving public health outcomes.

Cecilia’s research interests focus on understanding and addressing health disparities in the San Joaquin Valley, a region marked by significant socio-economic and health inequities. With conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, and obesity prevalent in the area, her goal is to develop strategies that address these issues while considering the socio-economic, racial, and ethnic diversity of the population.

Cecilia is passionate about using biostatistics and data support to improve health outcomes and promote resilience within the San Joaquin Valley. By connecting the community to meaningful research and creating data that accurately reflects the local area, she aims to advance health equity and drive impactful change in public health.
