I am currently a PhD student in Psychological Sciences (Emphasis: Developmental) at UC Merced. I am advised by Dr. Mayra Bámaca. My research interests are in mental health factors (i.e., depression, anxiety, stress) that may be implicated in the academic success (i.e., academic persistence, academic achievement, GPA) of Latine undergraduate students. One of my current projects is examining Latine students' sense of self (i.e., sense of belonging, self-esteem, and academic self-efficacy) role in predicting academic persistence in college. I am also looking at mental health (i.e., anxiety, depression) as a potential mediator.
