The Amemiya group is interested in applying molecular genetics and genomics methods to problems in development and evolution. Of interest are problems in early formation of structures that enabled the conquering of land by vertebrates, such as the emergence of limbs and lungs.
We are also very interested in the origins of the immune system and the application of novel molecular genetic mechanisms for biotechnology.
