I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Molecular Biology, working under the guidance of Dr. Nobile. My research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate biofilm formation in Candida albicans, a significant pathogen in both clinical and immunocompromised populations. Specifically, I investigate the transcription factors and regulatory networks involved in mini-biofilm formation, which contributes to fungal virulence. My work integrates advanced molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, RNA-seq, and CUT&RUN, to identify key regulators and potential therapeutic targets. Ultimately, my research aims to provide insights that can improve treatment strategies for fungal infections.
