Amish Patel earned his undergraduate degree at Sonoma State University where he earned a double major in psychology and philosophy and graduated summa cum laude. There, he was a McNair Scholars, 2021-2022 Sally Casanova Scholar, and current fellow at the CSU Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program. He is currently a Ph.D. student of health psychology at the University of California at Merced where his primary research interests aim to examine risk and resilient factors as well as underlying mechanisms to the discrimination and sleep relationship. Additionally, he is interested in pursuing research on how anger is predictive of blood pressure and moderators that protect and/or make people more vulnerable to this association.
