As a developmental scientist, I am guided by developmental-contextual frameworks to answer questions about how culture, families, peers, neighborhoods, and other racialized contexts (e.g., schools) interconnect with individual development and inform Latinx adolescent behavioral patterns and health-related outcomes (depressive symptoms, substance use, and sexual behaviors).
This focus aligns well with the Dynamic Biopsychosocial Model of Health (Lehman, David, & Graber, 2017) as my work takes an interdisciplinary perspective to examine the embeddedness of culture, context, and development to the study of adolescent health-related outcomes.
