Professor, Psychological Sciences, School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Arts

My research is in the fields of applied social and health psychology, behavioral medicine, and health behavior change. Specifically, I am interested in application of social cognition, motivational, and dual-process theories from social psychology to predict, explain, and change health behavior.

My research involves basic, fundamental research on mechanisms and processes, and applied research aimed at developing novel, effective solutions to health problems including promotion of preventive behaviors in the public health contexts, and the management of chronic disease and long-term conditions.

I am also interested in research synthesis, particularly meta-analyses of theoretical determinants of health behavior.
