Womxn's Empowerment Conference: Embracing Intersectionality
March 10, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Womxn's* Empowerment Conference (WEC) is a transformative experience that brings womxn together to educate, inspire, empower, and honor womxn and their intersectionality as agents of positive social change through the various topics covered by our presenters. It was created to showcase opportunities to empower womxn to achieve their highest level of personal and professional growth. "Embracing Intersectionality" is the theme for 2018. This conference is part of Womxn's HERStory Month programming.

*We are utilizing womxn to be more inclusive of the diversity within the category of womxn

Keynote Speakers: Jade Phoenix Martinez, a queer, trans, femme, first-generation Pilipinx-American, Los Angeles-based performance poet, writer, educator, parent & activist. Katherine Gin has worked to enhance arts and education opportunities for low-income and minority youth and has developed innovative programs in schools, housing projects, and detention facilities.

UC Merced students: $20 deposit, returned after conference (see details below)

Registration is open through 4 p.m. March 5.

Due to space limitation, we recommend registering early. Individuals attending the conference are required to provide a $20 deposit in a sealed envelope with their names and Womxn's Empowerment Conference written on the envelopes to the Office of Student Life (KL 184) front desk no later than Wednesday, March 7, at 4 p.m. Deposits will be returned after the conference. The deposit will be donated to Women's Programs if you do not attend the conference.
