Karla Seijas is a Ph.D. student; her research areas of interest are gender roles in the military, women in combat, transition and integration after active duty military service, resources for veterans based on gender and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is a proud military spouse who is active in learning what the needs of veterans are, being an ally of military families as well as an advocate.
Karla has held positions as a political advisor to the Government of Israel, Public Affairs Specialist for the Commander (rank of Lieutenant General) of the United States Army Installation Management Command, Transition Counselor for active duty service members discharging from the military and as faculty in the department of political science at Georgia Military College. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Public Policy, both from California State University, Northridge as well as a Certificate of Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. Her advisor is Professor Robin DeLugan.
