My current work is focused on health economics and health services research under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Brown. My research interests include health care costs, behavioral economics, health policy modeling and analysis, access to care for underserved and unserved populations, health policy analysis and health disparities.
Prior to joining the PhD program, Gilda worked 17 years in the Central San Joaquin Valley region for Native American Health Center, Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency, Fresno County Behavioral Health Department, Fresno State Foundation, Tulare Regional Medical Center, and most recently she was the Deputy Director of Madera County Public Health Department.
Gilda obtained her Economics degree from the Universidad de Guadalajara in Mexico. She also received a Master’s degree in Public Health Policy and Management from the California State University, Fresno.
